Chronic Illness

My Approach

Life coaching

We support individuals living with chronic illness by offering a compassionate, understanding space to process the emotional and practical challenges of managing long-term health conditions. Many clients come to us looking for more than just empathy—they want a therapist who truly understands what it’s like to live with chronic illness. At Heartwood Counseling and Wellness, our therapist with personal experience navigating chronic health challenges provides specialized support for conditions such as autoimmune disorders, POTS, chronic pain, fatigue, and invisible illnesses. We help clients cope with the impact of illness on identity, relationships, work, and self-worth, while learning to honor their limits and find balance. Our goal is to walk alongside you as you cultivate resilience, create a life that fits your body’s needs, and reconnect with hope and meaning.

All of our therapists at Heartwood Counseling and Wellness provide compassionate and supportive care. While every member of our team is able to offer support, Amy specializes in supporting clients navigating life with chronic health conditions. Living with chronic illness herself, she brings both professional expertise and personal insight to help clients honor their limits, find balance, and build a fulfilling life beyond their diagnosis.

As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I know how difficult it can be to find a counselor who is affirming and comfortable talking about LGBTQIA+ issues.  While your identity is integral to who you are and how you experience the world, it’s not the only thing that influences how you move through the world.  I’m here to help you navigate your journey, however that may look for you.
